About the author
Lucas P. Voss is an engineer whose career has been shaped by a lifelong fascination with technology and human behavior. Over the years, he watched as digital tools evolved from conveniences into powerful engines of connection and, increasingly, instruments of manipulation.
With a strong personal sense of justice, Voss became deeply unsettled by the rise of sophisticated online fraud schemes. As an engineer, he could see the architecture behind these crimes: the vulnerabilities exploited, the psychology weaponized, and the cold precision with which victims were selected and drained. What disturbed him most was not just the financial toll, but the emotional devastation – the shame, isolation and broken trust that often keep victims silent.
Those observations, combined with a desire to explore the human side of digital deception, became the spark for The Pig Butcherer. Blending technical insight with psychological tension, Voss set out to capture what happens when ordinary lives collide with ruthless online predators and what courage looks like in a world where the threats are invisible, global, and deeply personal.
The Pig Butcherer is his debut novel, but the questions that drove him to write this book remain:

When he’s not writing, building or dismantling things, he enjoys hiking in the desert, cooking and have his dogs exercise him. He lives in the American Southwest, where he is currently at work on his next novel
